Football, How Exciting!

August 13, 2008

I watched the football game which was held in Qualcomm Stadium on Saturday. That was first time to watch football game here, no.. in my life. I thouht football was very American sport and I was never interested in it ever. Then, generally speaking, football let people and me think of soccer which was from England in the world. So, I didn’t know any rule about football. Before going to stadium, I tried to study football and could know how for them to play and gey score. The game was so excting and interesting. I could feel that the US people are really into football and I enjoyed it, even though the game was preseason game. After, regular season starting, I will go to stadium again and feel the passion of football.

After midterm exam…

August 6, 2008

All of midterm are over today . The result???? I don’t care about that. Grade is not important for us. If I tried to do best, That is enough. Important thing is that I can enjoy my life in San Diego. I bought a surfing board a couple of days ago. However, If I want to go to beach to surf, I have to keep thinking about the test I should take. I feel that I can get freedom to take my time. I will study English and surf with great friends.

Am I American?

July 22, 2008

I usually drink Coke, whenever I eat something or I feel thirsty. Specially, I prefer the Classic Coke among other brands such as Diet Coke, Zero Coke, and so on. I have paid a lot for Coke since I came here, four month ago. I am getting addictive. When I was in Korea, I used to choose another drinks like Juice or coffee. I have been told that Coke is not good for your health. That’s why I put distance between Coke and me. However, this is changed and I drink Coke. I am becoming American!

When I was in Korea, I have learned how to use turntables just one time from my firend who is DJ. I thought turntables was hard to manage before learning it, but it was not so much hard. However, I can’t say I’m good at using it, or rather, I’m poor, even though It is easy to deal with. I plan to learn it from him again after going back to Korea.

How to mix music on turntables

Step1
Choose which kind of turntables you are comfortable with. The older variety is going to be cheaper, but you can only scratch records. New digital turntables are available that allow you to mix CDs or mp3s. These newer ones will be more common in today’s clubs.
Step2

Connect the turntables to your DJ mixer. The mixer should be in between the two turntables. It has a fader left and right, which regulates which turntable will be playing, and two faders up and down on each side to control the volume of those turntables.

Step3

Find good music to mix together. You can buy loops specially made for this sort of mixing, or you can peruse your own music collection. If you choose the latter, make sure the songs are in the same key and generally work together with each other.

Step4

Slide the fader over side-to-side and check the volume of each turntable. You can do this individually or at once by leaving the fader dead center. Adjust volume by sliding the vertical faders upward for more volume and downward for less.

Step5

Start one track, get the rhythm down and then push “Play” on the other track on beat. If you’ve chosen your tracks right, they should sink up and create a new complex sound. You can the drop elements in and out, scratch and tamper with the EQ of each turntable as you see fit. Practice over and over and try your luck at house parties or nightclubs. It can be a fun and rewarding past time.

Sushi

July 16, 2008

Look at this picture. What a nice sushi!  isn’t it? I really love Sushi even though I’m Korean. Actually, I like Japanese food very much and my favorite Japanese food is Sushi. After coming here, I couldn’t have many chance to eat Sushi. As you know, Sushi is expensive food and I don’t know good Japanese restaurant. If someone tell me the good place to eat my favorite, I go there right now!

Surfing

July 16, 2008

It is good for me to learn how to surf here. We have very limited area to surf in Korea, because we don’t have good wave to do surfing like here. However, I can surf if I go to any beach near here. Two weeks ago, I learned the way to do surfing from my friend, Hodo. And, I will go to beach again to enjoy surfing. It will be my hobby.
